Showa 44:
Simon Barker (drums) + Carl Dewhurst

Simon and I started playing together as Showa 44 in 2000. We actually recorded our first album at that time. The recording was released in 2005 as the self-titled debut CD on Simon's Kimnara label. Since then we've released two more CD's through Kimnara: "Ormus" and "Orneon"

The Drip Hards:
Cameron Undy (bass), Evan Mannell (drums) + Carl Dewhurst

We formed The Drip Hards in 2009. We'd been playing since 2005 as the Carl Dewhurst Trio. Over time our playing became more and more collective, interactive, destructive, humourous, arrythmic and down right fun. Eventually we ended up playing in a way that reminded us of the sound of water dripping. What was initially a jazz trio playing my music became a band in the true sense. The name change was a reflection of both the musical and interpersonal evolution of this group.
